Dated Hanover, February 2nd, 1903.
With embossed family coat of arms at top left.
Ink signature of Field Marshal ALFRED VON WALDERSEE (Pour le Merite with oak leaves, as well as many other awards).
He mainly commanded military units in Hanover.
From 1888 to 1891 he was Chief of the General Staff and around 1900 Commander-in-Chief of a multinational contingent of troops that had been sent to Beijing to put down the Chinese Boxer Rebellion.
The document is folded in the middle.
