Max Bastian was Admiral of the Kriegsmarine and from 1939 - 1944 President of the Reich War Tribunal. He was responsible for various death sentences. On March 27, 1947, Bastian was handed over to the French by the British, without trial, and was accused of various war crimes. From 1947 to 1948 he was therefore imprisoned. He was the holder of the Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross with swords (12.10.1944), as well as many other awards. The document is folded in the middle. Light age traces.
