The photos were taken in Hamburg in 1934.
From November 1939, it served as a residential ship for the crew of the heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper, on which Blohm & Voss needed some modifications. Then it served again as an office ship and for the construction supervision of the battleship Bismarck.
The ship was sunk in 1944 as a target ship of the Air Force.
