He was holder of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with oak leaves, as well as other awards.
Hollidt was involved in crimes of the Wehrmacht, both in war crimes and non-military crimes, which is why against him and some other members of the Wehrmacht peak after 1945 in Nuremberg was investigated and charged.
Because of illegal use of prisoners of war and abduction and enslavement of civilians, he was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment, which he served in the war criminal prison Landsberg.
